Turkey Teriyaki Asian Meatballs

 

Turkey Teriyaki Asian Meatballs is all about the yummy.

Homemade meatballs are one thing. Little meatballs are another thing. Little meatballs in homemade teriyaki sauce. NOW that’s something different. Turkey Teriyaki Asian Meatballs. Almost all the recipes out there buy teriyaki sauce. In these times, we are more about cooking at home. Kids will love this recipe. Here’s how to make it.

Sauce
2 TB coconut sugar
2 TB Bragg’s Aminos or soy sauce
1 TB local honey
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 cup plus 2 TB water
2 TB cornstarch

Bring 1 cup water, sugar, aminos, honey, and spices up to a simmer, turn on low.

In a small bowl, whisk 2 TB water and cornstarch, add to heated mixture and continue heating on medium low for about 5 minutes until it coats the back of a spoon. Leave covered, over low heat while meatballs bake.

Meatballs

Preheat oven to 425 F

1 lb ground turkey
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ginger
2 tsp five spice
1 egg
1/2 cup panko
1 tsp braggs
1/4 cup water

Prepare baking pan with cooking spray covered with parchment

In a medium bowl, whisk egg, add meat, spices, Bragg’s aminos or soy and water.

Mix with clean, trimmed hands until just mixed thoroughly. Roll into 2 inch diameter meatballs.

Bake 15 minutes or until at least 170F.  In a pretty bowl, add sauce and carefully toss the meatballs, being careful not to break them.
