LIFESTYLE DIET RESET #10 – Mindfulness

LIFESTYLE DIET RESET #10 – Mindfulness

Thoughts and a few recipes for the day.

How are you doing? It’s been a while…

I think it’s time to add to the Lifestyle Diet Reset. People seem understandably lost with all the societal and economic changes happening at a rapid rate.

Maybe I can share a little part of the things that work for me to keep me sane.

As an aside, I’m noticing a LOT of people are taking Xanax (sp?) to relax and cope. I’m not sure how it works exactly. I just know that it’s kind of a designer fix prescribed (particularly to women) to help with relaxation. In other words, it’s a “keep the womens calm” kind of thing. That’s just my interpretation.. Read the origin of the word “hysteria”.

Every keystroke, every email, every photo and each online pronouncement is creating your digital person. This is not a drill, but yet, it is actually a drill.

We are not a socialist country. We are currently a communist country. (See the ten tenets of communism). You are in a beta and development test to learn the following (and more):

  1. How compliant are you?
  2. Do you speak against the state?
  3. How do you react to discipline (blocking, no-entry, taking of money and assets, no-fly lists etc.)?
  4. As controls (curbs) are implemented, how are you reacting?
  5. Are you a candidate for re-education?
  6. What level of digital control will Americans tolerate? (apparently, a lot)

Here is how I have learned to cope with stress and adversity:

Instead of jumping out of bed in the morning, when you wake up take a minute or two to contemplate what you hope to accomplish by the end of the day. Prioritize.

I start with a cup of tea (no breakfast yet) and it’s usually matcha (from Japan) or dandelion tea or warm bone broth. No immediate news consumption because it’s too jarring until you are fully awake and refreshed.

When I was unwell (see previous Lifestyle entries), I bought a sauna and I usually take at least one per day. I’ve written a feature about the benefits of saunas, but I don’t think it’s on this site. We will revisit this because I think everyone should take a sauna every day (unless your doctor says this is a bad idea).

A shower after all that heat is really refreshing! I want to point out that you can buy filters for your shower, so you are not showering in chlorine and other unknown chemicals.

Skin care is paramount, especially now. More on that in a future entry. BUT here is a little menu for today. I started breaking my meals down by cutting them in half and eating six small meals or snacks as it is easier on your digestive system. And, make sure in a 24-hour period you take an 8-12 break from any meals. This makes a huge difference in how well you process food and keeps your energy up throughout your day.

Each recipe is for at least two portions.
