Elizabeth takes us to the rolling hills of Kentucky south of Louisville. There, nearly 100 years ago, the government built the Ft. Knox Army Base. In 1936, the US Mint chose the secure military base and built the Ft. Knox Bullion Depository and began storing our gold reserves. Is there gold there today? We’ll never know because the site is CLOSED to the public.
