No one needs more stress during the week. This is a quick dinner you can throw together and it basically cooks itself. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
1 lb ziti
2 oz butter
4 oz flour
2 cups milk
1 cup red pasta sauce (good quality jarred or your own)
1/8 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella
4 oz feta, crumbled
4 oz fontina, grated
6 slices of provolone
Method
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Boil pasta according to package directions. In a large saucepan, melt butter and add flour over medium high heat. Stir with a whisk until incorporated. Add milk and whisk to prevent lumps. When it thickens (takes a couple of minutes), add nutmeg, salt and pepper, pasta sauce and all the cheeses except provolone. Stir until melted. In a large bowl combine pasta and cheese sauce. Pour into a 9 x 13 glass dish. Place the provolone slices on the top. Bake for 30 minutes, or until browned and bubbly. Serve with crusty bread and a salad.
