From the Food And Travel Nation News Desk – Brilliant Strategy by Chuck-E-Cheese
What they are doing.
So what do you do with your chain of restaurants built entirely around the dine-in experience for kids when a pandemic breaks out and you’re forced to lock the doors? Brilliant strategy by Chuck E Cheese aims to: (1) keep the revenue coming in while the pandemic situation settles down (2) keep the kitchen staff working (3) give new customers a delivery-only service when they needed it the most, and (4) use this as an opportunity to build an entirely new brand NOT built around children and dancing rodents. Meet Pasqually. He’s the animatronic chef in the musical band that plays at Chuck-E-Cheese for kid parties. He’s also now apparently the chef who makes pizza and wings… oh yeah, and chocolate chip cookies.
In a statement to Food and Wine magazine, I noticed CEC Entertainment (the parent company) ‘fessed up to launching Pasqually’s Pizza and Wings, that just happened to be based out of their Chuck-E-Cheese restaurants when Grubhub drivers arrived.
“CEC Entertainment, Inc. recently launched Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings nationwide. I think the inspiration was rooted in the desire to create a premium pizza while staying true to the CEC brand. Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings, named after another favorite member of Munch’s Make Believe Band, shares kitchen space with the Chuck E. Cheese restaurant, ensuring high-quality, fresh ingredients. Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings’ recipes use fresh, homemade pizza dough, just like Chuck E. Cheese, but it is a different pizza that features a thicker crust and extra sauce, giving consumers a more flavorful, more premium pizza experience. While Pasqually’s Pizza & Wings recipes are currently only available for delivery, select items might be added to the Chuck E. Cheese menu in the future.” It’s a Brilliant Strategy by Chuck-E-Cheese .
Pasqually’s Pizza and Wings are available at 400 locations across the US and is only being delivered by Grubhub.
