Usually following our weekly “Food And Travel Nation Taste Test” I’ll post the audio from the segment, add additional pictures and write a brief summary of the foods being tested. Quite frankly, I’m not going to spend that much time on this one, because the products tested from two of the restaurants are NOT worth that much effort.
We tried regular Chicken Biscuits from McDonald’s, Burger King and Chick-Fil-A.
I’ll keep this short and to the point: both McDonald’s and Burger King serve chicken patties that were “mechanically separated” in processing plant, then formed into some hideous shape (that looks nothing like a chicken breast) a breading was applied, then it was flash-frozen and shipped to the store. At the local restaurant, it goes into a deep fryer for about two to three minutes, it’s placed on a pre-made microwaved biscuit, wrapped up and served to you. There is NO WAY to be nice about this. The Chicken Biscuit sandwiches from McDonald’s and Burger King were AWFUL, tasteless, and we urge you not to waste your money on them.
We also tested a Chick-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit. It’s a slightly smaller version of their regular Chick-Fil-A Sandwich that people line up for, but it’s served on a biscuit. It’s real meat, with a light dusting of salt, pepper and spices that’s pressure cooked to perfection. The sandwich tastes great and the biscuit reminds you of those tall, proud, flaky homemade biscuits your Grandmother made when you were a kid.
But here’s the bottom line… the chicken biscuits served at all three of these are atrocious when it comes to their nutrition facts. McDonald’s | Burger King | Chick-Fil-A
Next time, consider a more balanced breakfast including a cup of yogurt with fruit, a cheese stick and a tall glass of Florida Orange Juice.
